Gingerbread Village gives back

It was ginger and spice and all things nice at the Gingerbread Village by EPICURE last December. Thanks to EPICURE and generous people like you, the Village raised over $25,700 to help sick children at the RCH.

This year, the Gingerbread Village shared little Edie’s hospital journey. Born with her intestines on the outside of her body, Edie was rushed to the RCH for life saving surgery and care. Though Edie will need RCH care for many years to come, her future is looking bright.

This is the second year that EPICURE’s Gingerbread Village has supported sick children like Edie. In two years, the event has raised over $53,000 to help the hospital. This incredible feat is also thanks to the support of volunteers who generously share their time to ensure the Gingerbread Village is a success.

One of Melbourne’s favourite Christmas attractions, the Gingerbread Village will be back in 2018, opening on 1 December Held at Melbourne Town Hall, it is visited by over 50,000 people keen to see what EPICURE’s award-winning Executive Pastry Chef, Deniz Karaca and his team have created. Over several months, they painstakingly recreate iconic Melbourne landmarks like Luna Park and the MCG, using 500kg of gingerbread, 360kg of royal icing, 150kg of marzipan and approximately 800 miniature trees to bring the magical Gingerbread Village to life.
