A long term supporter of the health, emergency and public service sectors, BankVic is proud to sponsor the Hospital Heroes Gallery as part of the RCH’s 150th anniversary.

The Hospital Heroes Gallery is a series of portrait installations throughout 2020 and 2021 celebrating the ‘unsung heroes’ of the RCH who make the hospital the world-leading institution it is today.

While the first of six exhibitions opened in February as part of the official RCH150 launch celebrations, the exhibition then moved online so the community can continue to learn about the heroes of the hospital.

“All staff at the RCH make a huge difference to the lives of sick children and the greater community. BankVic exists to strengthen the communities which we serve. As the bank for health, it is an honour to celebrate these staff not only at our RCH branch, but in all our branches across Melbourne,” said Anthony De Fazio, CEO of BankVic.

There are six different galleries, each showcasing a different part of the RCH community:

• Fundamental Foundations highlights the dedicated network of support staff who work tirelessly each day to ensure there are strong foundations for clinical staff to provide the greatest care possible.
• Clinical Excellence takes a step back in time, shining a light on the stories of those who helped pave the way to a brighter future for paediatric healthcare.
• A Legacy of Giving celebrates the Good Friday Appeal partners who have made a difference since 1931.
• Outreach showcases some of the RCH’s people, services and programs dedicated to the advancement of paediatric healthcare, with global benefits.
• Raising the Bar showcases some of the generous volunteers, supporters and fundraisers who play a vital role in enabling the hospital to provide the very best care to sick children.
• Impact shines the spotlight on those at the centre of everything that is done at the RCH – the patients.

The galleries has been developed, produced and delivered in collaboration with RMIT University photography students.​
