The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with the 38th Australian Sikh Games, one of Australia’s largest multicultural sporting events, committing to raise $125,000 for sick children treated at the RCH.
Taking place this Easter weekend in Melbourne’s Parkville Precinct, the Australian Sikh Games will welcome more than 8,000 athletes, 400 teams, and an expected 150,000 spectators from across Australia and around the world. As part of the 2026 Games, the Sikh community will unite behind a major fundraising campaign in support of the RCH.
This marks the first time the Australian Sikh Games has partnered with a hospital charity at this scale. The 2026 Games will also see the launch of the new Sikh Community Auxiliary, formed with the support of long-time fundraisers including the New Zealand Australian Punjabi Association.
Dedicated to bringing together Sikh community groups across Victoria, the Auxiliary reflects the community’s strong tradition to service and generosity while creating a platform for ongoing support of sick children and their families treated at the RCH.
The Sikh Community Auxiliary joins 54 other Auxiliary groups and over 400 dedicated members who support the hospital through community-led fundraising. Celebrating an extraordinary 103 years of community-driven support and impact, the RCH Auxiliaries have collectively raised more than $50 million, helping to deliver world-class care to children and their families across Victoria and beyond.
Ryan Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the RCH Foundation, said the partnership reflects the powerful role community-led events can play in transforming the lives of sick children and their families.
“The Australian Sikh Games represent the very best of community, culture, and generosity. To see one of Australia’s largest multicultural sporting events rally behind the hospital and its patients is both humbling and inspiring,” Mr Brown said.
“Communities from all walks of life play an essential role in strengthening our shared wellbeing – not only through generosity, but through a deep commitment to service, inclusion, and care for others. Partnerships like this are vital to the RCH Foundation, as they help ensure we can continue to invest in world-class care, innovative treatments and the best possible hospital experience for the hundreds of thousands of children who rely on the RCH each year. We are incredibly grateful to the Sikh community for choosing to support the RCH.”
This year’s Sikh Games will be a part of the RCH Auxiliaries’ proud legacy, helping raise vital funds to support care in the hospital’s Kelpie Ward – a 32-bed inpatient unit providing specialist care for children and adolescents aged 5 to 20 living with acute and chronic health conditions.
The RCH Foundation looks forward to working alongside the Australian Sikh Games and the Sikh Community Auxiliary to build a lasting partnership that reflects shared values of compassion, service, and community leadership.
