Caring Friends of Cystic Fibrosis Auxiliary

Main funding purpose: Cystic fibrosis

The story so far

In 2006 a group of grandparents of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) patients established the Caring Friends of Cystic Fibrosis Auxiliary with the aim of making a substantial contribution to the wellbeing of children who have CF.

The Auxiliary holds twice monthly craft stalls at the RCH as well as external craft markets with a wide range of items produced by supporters. It has also sold merchandise at local schools, and week-long stalls at The Glen shopping centre. As well as this, annual dinner auctions have been held at a Glen Waverley restaurant and a stall and raffle at the annual CF Basketball Challenge Cup match between the Knox Ford Raiders and the Club Kilsyth Cobras.

Since its inception, the Auxiliary has supported the special requirements of the CF Department, including clinical services, physiotherapy, play therapy and research.
