Maria has always been a giver, she started donating when she got her first pay cheque at 16. ”After I started a family of my own, we joined a group of volunteers and came along to decorate the hospital at Christmas. I saw first-hand the care and compassion that every member of the hospital shares with the multicultural mix of patients, parents and staff who make the RCH a well known name all around the world”.

In 2018, Maria continued her tradition of helping to decorate the hospital for Christmas, and was joined by her youngest daughter, Ella, now 20 years old.
