Ezy Breathing Auxiliary

Main funding purpose: Respiratory Medicine support

The story so far

The Ezy Breathing Auxiliary was established in 2004 by Emma Luedi to raise funds to support kids with respiratory problems, in particular children with a tracheostomy. At the time, Emma was spending a lot of time in hospital with her son Tyler, and she noticed how isolated parents with trachy babies seemed to be.

Fundraising activities for the Auxiliary include an annual trivia night, stalls at the RCH, as well as a talent show to raise funds for the annual Christmas party at the RCH for the trachy kids and their families. Emma, who is also a talented face painter, has also supported the face painting activity at the Good Friday Appeal Kids Day Out for several years.

Fundraising by the Auxiliary has allowed for the purchase of two portable Suction Units for the Sugar Glider Ward when the new hospital opened in 2011.
