Footscray/Yarraville Juniors Auxiliary

Raising funds for wish list items, allowing the RCH Foundation the flexibility to meet the most pressing needs of the hospital.

Area: Footscray and South Yarra

The story so far

Footscray/Yarraville Juniors Auxiliary was founded in 1960. Some of the members’ mothers had enjoyed being members of the Footscray/Yarraville Auxiliary for many years and their daughters thought it would be wonderful to support the RCH as their mothers had done. That was the beginning of a half-century of fundraising, fun and friendship. Five inaugural members were recently joined by all members to celebrate 50 marvelous years. In the 1960s, the five ladies received Life Governship of the RCH and are now proud to be Living Treasures of Auxiliaries. The Footscray/Yarraville Juniors Auxiliary President has also been awarded the prestigious Madge Tate Service Award for her dedication. Footscray/Yarraville Juniors contributes the funds raised to the hospitals wish list for the acquisition of equipment.

What we are working on

Footscray/Yarraville Juniors holds a fundraising function every month. Events include theatre luncheons and plant stalls, which are all well supported. Some members also enjoy working in the gift shop at the RCH each month, while others contribute homemade preserves and craft for stalls and sales.
