Southern Rainbows Auxiliary

Main funding purpose: Equipment for Medical Unit and research

The story so far

Since it was established in 1967, the Southern Rainbows Auxiliary, which was previously known as the Springvale Auxiliary, has been a dedicated supporter of the RCH.

The Auxiliary started raising funds by selling Christmas cards, with one member pressing rose petals and decorating cards which were sold to a Toorak business. Moving through the years, tennis tournaments and Oaks Day sausage sizzles held at Bunnings were annual events, along with washing flowerpots at the Gardeners Gate Nursery. Members have also sold Tote Bags at local shopping centres, conducted stalls at the RCH and have assisted in the Canteen and the Auxiliaries Gift Shop. The current President, Aggie, used to host a Cuppa for Kids
garden party.

Time has seen the membership reduced to one person, Aggie, who personally makes or sources all the merchandise to sell at the stalls.
