Hodges Real Estate is changing the lives of children in the community by supporting the RCH.
Victoria’s longest-running real estate agency, Hodges has been contributing to the Melbourne community since 1856. Seeing the effect the RCH has on the lives of children and families in the community, Hodges decided to partner with the hospital to support those who rely on it.
Keen to support care across the hospital, 12 Hodges offices each sponsor a bed in the Dolphin Ward, which cares for children who present to the Emergency Department and require up to 48 hours of care. By sponsoring a bed in the Dolphin Ward, Hodges offices are making a direct contribution to the life changing care of sick children.
“Across the Hodges group, many of our staff members have been personally touched or impacted by the work of the RCH. This also applies to many of our customers. There is no denying that the RCH is making a significant impact throughout all the communities where we operate and this is something the Hodges group wholeheartedly wanted to support. That’s why the RCH was such a clear choice for us,” said Carmel Kellett, Hodges CEO.
In addition to bed sponsorship, the Hodges group supports the hospital through many fundraising events including:
- Easter egg hunts hosted by the Hodges Mentone, Hodges Beaumaris and Hodges Ascot Vale offices. Featuring sausage sizzles, colouring competitions, meet and greets with the Easter Bunny, ice cream trucks and of course Easter egg hunts, they were fun for the whole family.
- The Hodges Cranbourne office recently held a Walk for the Kids fundraiser, inviting the community to join them in their health and wellness New Years resolution while supporting the hospital.
- The Hodges Prahran office saw every staff member join their Run for the Kids team, with members of the wider Hodges network volunteering their time to rattle tins and assist with race registration.
- The Hodges Charity Golf Day brings together staff, clients and business partners in support of the RCH. Fundraising over 18 holes and a charity auction, the event is a highlight in the Hodges calendar, raising over $5,000 at the most recent event.
“Each Hodges office is ecstatic to be involved with the RCH and be affiliated with such a phenomenal, selfless organisation.
“We’re thrilled to do our part to help the RCH improve the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents throughout Victoria,” said Carmel.
