Kyle Sheldon Memorial Fund reach goal

The Kyle Sheldon Memorial Fund is dedicated to supporting The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH). The inspirational fund has been set up to honour the Sheldon family’s late son Kyle and to ensure sick children receive the best treatment and care for complex colorectal conditions.

The Sheldon family held their fourth annual Kyle Sheldon Memorial Golf Day on Sunday 17 January at Mt Derrimut Golf Club with a record 59 players as well as non-playing guests and volunteers. Thanks to the generosity of players and sponsors, an incredible $15,248 was raised.

The day concluded with an exciting cheque presentation of $50,000 to Associate Professor Sebastian King. This marked the third and final instalment of a $150,000 commitment to establish the Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction Service (CPRS) at the RCH. The funds raised by the Kyle Sheldon Memorial Fund will ensure the CPRS can deliver a truly world class patient care model and improve the quality of life for children with complex colorectal, urological and gynaecological conditions.

“We got 26 years of fantastic time with Kyle. It pains us every day that Kyle is no longer with us but we take some solace in knowing he would be proud of his legacy,” said Grant.
