For the past five years, the Bendigo Delivery Network for Australia Post, better known as the Bendigo Posties, have been supporting the Cancer In Kids Auxiliary (CIKA), whose funds go to the Good Friday Appeal.

The initiative first began in 2017, when CIKA member Ruth Edelsten was asked by her local postman, Chris, to do a presentation to the Bendigo Postie team about CIKA, and how their fundraising supports cancer care at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).

Ruth’s talk was well received and, encouraged by Bill McGavock, Manager of the the Bendigo Delivery Network for Australia Post, Posties Lisa, Chris and Kevin organised monthly raffles for CIKA, which have been a constant in the Posties’ breakrooms in Bendigo ever since.

A few weeks ago, Ruth was presented with a cheque for an incredible $4,000, which was raised during 2021 through the monthly raffles. These funds will support the Good Friday Appeal and help make life-changing projects at the RCH possible.
