The Fruci Family became affiliated with the RCH Foundation in 2018 when Francesco Fruci walked into the Gratitude Hub at the hospital after being profoundly moved by the exceptional care his grandson had received.

Witnessing the tireless efforts of the hospital staff and the unwavering support provided to his loved ones, Francesco knew he had to do something to give back.

His journey began with a simple act of gratitude – donating to the RCH Foundation. But Francesco’s commitment didn’t stop there.

Francesco and his family decided to channel their gratitude into something that meant even more to them. So, they started organising Italian dinner dances, known as Mambo Italiano.

These events not only raised funds for the RCH Foundation but also brought together families and supporters who had been touched by the hospital’s care.

The Fruci family said, “We were unprepared by the amazing generosity that was given, such as the amazing sponsors that rallied behind us, and individuals raising their hands to help in any way that they could.”

These gatherings became a celebration of life, a testament to the power of community and a tradition eagerly awaited by all.

With donations by the Fruci family to date having exceeded $20,000 and supporting the purchase of state of art equipment at the RCH, they are excited to continue to give back to the hospital.

“Our plans for the future are to continue to raise funds and create awareness. We see the work we do for our events as minimal compared to the amazing work which takes place at the hospital,” the family added.
